Crowning Inspiration: New Year's Resolutions

If you're planning a wedding and are about to get married, you know this is going to be an unforgettable year-- that's certainly something to toast to!
As you think about your New Year's Resolutions, why not include some to make wedding planning a little less stressful?!

1. (Cardinal Rule) I will not do anything... before I contract a wedding coordinator. She will be my right hand and guide to a fabulous celebration!

2. I will not end up on YouTube for the wrong reason nor will I let others dampen my mood with their crazy horror stories or silly dramas.

3. I will take good care of my nails. They are jewels not tools.

4. I will not use my Facebook status as a personal wedding journal.

5. I will trust my vendors.

6. I will not feel guilty about having an "adults-only" reception.

7. I will attempt (at least a little) DIY and remind myself now and then its not DYI (Drive Yourself Insane).

8. I will acknowledge that some people might not want to be the "guest book attendant."

9. I will eat the dinner at my reception and take more than just a bite of my scrumptious wedding cake.

10. I will look on the bright side no matter what. My smile is my best accessory.

Happy New Year to all the Brides out there!

Crowning and Cunning: Honeymoon Scrapbooks and Journals

Recently we posted a Crowning Celebrations Engagement Tip on Engagement Journals. While searching for the perfect handmade journal, we came across these fabulous finds perfect for scrapbooking or journalling your honeymoon!
Each cover features a location. Pick the location you honeymoon to, or if you are cruisin' the high seas, there's one for that, too!

These journals are designed by a Brazilian artist and are a steal for just under 20 bucks! The artist's love for Vintage Travel Art inspired him to put it on leather. It gives it the journal a vintage appearance and beautiful texture. The journal is made from natural ox leather and colored with leather inks screened onto the surface. Inside there are 200 pages made from medium weight recycled paper attached with cotton cords where you can draw, design, write or scrapbook your adventures. Also there are two inside pockets to store photos, maps, etc. The journal becomes more beautiful with the passage of time. It is a work of art and it makes unique gift, unforgettable souvenir of your honeymoon!

You can find these journals from TravelOnArt on Etsy.

Crowning Celebrations: Engagement tips

Its the season, and whether you just got engaged or have been for a few months, there is no better time than to start a journal! In fact, its a fabulous winter project or New Year's resolution.

The journal of your engagement, from planning, to celebrating to those few moments of shock or bridezilla-ness, it will be a priceless treasure to pass onto your daughter, or open at your 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Check out these cute journals found at Etsy

Fantasy Bloom - Nubuck Suede Playful Journal
2CheekyMonkeys - Sleeping Beauty Journal (who doesn't love this classic!)
Indigosome - Love Crown (gotta love the crown!!!)
PeregrineArtsBindery - Floating Feathers
BurgandyDistrict - Indigo Bloom Book

I love these handmade books. As an art major I took a class in bookmaking. Its not as easy as it looks. There are many steps and fine details into proper bookmaking.
Whether you choose a handmade book from Etsy or a journal from a bookstore, pick one up that expresses your style, relationship, proposal or wedding colors. Just a few notes every couples days or weeks will be something to treasure down the line.
