CROWNING CELEBRATION: Bridal Shower at Toledo Museum of Art

I love it when clients let me design for them and then totally let me run with it! And its even more fun when its a break from the usual and plan an intimate party such as this one.

This bridal shower for 12 lovely ladies at the Toledo Museum of Art was designed around the bride's profession as a profession art auctioneer at Sotheby's in Manhattan. The hostess, the bride's sister, wanted to use coral and touches of turquoise and gold.

Great events deserved to be photographed by a professional. Thank you to Mary Wyar who captured my tablescape design, along with the entire event.

Don't you just love the gold flatware - totally completes the look!!! I luckily have a connection with fabulous taste and really good estate sale shopping skills. Thank you, Dale, for loaning us your fabulous finds!

Crowning Inspiration: EcoChic BlumeBox

Looking for a Green way to dress up your table? I love these Birch-inspired boxes from Blume Box. And they are only $2.99!!!

Line these boxes down your table for a linear look. Or space them apart and angle them off centered. Tie ribbons or bows around them for extra dimension. Or the 4" cube (their smallest size) can be used at each setting as place cards with your guest's names on them.
and I simply love the little Bloombuds placecard holders!
Little touches like this get me so excited for the holidays!!!

Crowning Inspiration: Black & White Tablescape

This morning Ann from Bartz Viviano Flowers & Gifts and Brittany from Crowning Celebrations Event Design & Coordination presented a black and white tablescape on WTOL's Your Morning Saturday.

The table featured a white taffeta linen with black velvet circles. At the center was a noir tree that had white hydrangea at the base. Tree branches were intertwined with white phalaenopsis orchids. Also featured where spheres of white carnations that were embellished with a crystal vine woven throughout. These spheres were placed on black-stripped vases. At each placesetting were silver chargers, clear square plates, black napkins with custom menus, silver flatware and long-stem glassware. Each napkin was accented with a crystal diamond paperweight for some extra bling! Votive cups were accented with crystal bands as well and were glowing with LED candles.

This look is great all together, or can be mixed up with the high trees on some tables and the lower spheres on others. This table would look great with noir chivari chairs and white or silver cushions. Or for a budget friendly idea, a black wood folding chair would compliment as well.

To add a little color, I recommend some color-washing on the walls and ceiling of your banquet room, or tent. This black and white tablescape would look great with just about any color. But blue turquoise is my favorite and you can play on that color with a blue Hypnotic liquour signature drink! Cheers!
